Context that carries forward.
Project instructions, durable memory, and conversation compaction help the agent return to relevant context as work grows.
THE DESKTOP WORKSPACE FOR AI AGENTS
Give an agent the context to build. SoarCode works in your repository, runs tools, and brings the changes back for your review.
macOS · Windows · Linux No account needed for local work.

Handle empty search results and cover the edge case.
The empty state is in place. Here’s what changed and how it was checked.

Checks you can follow.
01 / A CONNECTED WORKFLOW
The repository, the conversation, and the tools belong together. SoarCode keeps them in one working session.
Open a workspace and describe the task. The agent can read project instructions, search files, and follow symbols before making a change.
Repository context · Files · LSPEdits, terminal commands, and specialized subagents stay connected to the session. Review permission requests as the work progresses.
Terminal · MCP · SubagentsInspect the diff alongside test output and diagnostics. Use checkpoints to restore code, conversation, or both when you need to step back.
Diffs · Diagnostics · CheckpointsBring your own tools, too. Connect MCP servers, workspace Skills, and optional browser access through SoarBridge.
02 / BUILT AROUND YOUR CHOICES
Choose the model that fits the task. Keep your project, tools, and working context in the same place.
Find your setupYour provider. Your access.
Provider charges and limits apply.
Also supports Z.AI, Cerebras, Ollama Cloud, and custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
Project instructions, durable memory, and conversation compaction help the agent return to relevant context as work grows.
Delegate focused tasks to subagents with their own context and tools, while following their progress from the main session.
03 / YOU SET THE BOUNDARIES
An agent needs access to do useful work. Decide which tools it can use, inspect the outcome, and keep a way back.
Understand the boundariesWhen your policy requires approval, allow the action once, grant the displayed scope, or deny it.
Review changes in the diff. Checkpoints let you restore code, conversation, or both.
Work without a SoarCode account. Connect approved devices when you want encrypted sync and remote access.
Using a cloud model sends the task’s required context to that provider. Local inference is available through a local model endpoint.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Straight answers about models, local work, and your data.
SoarCode is a desktop application from SoarLabz for developing software with AI agents. Open a repository, choose a model, and work through a task with file tools, a terminal, Git diffs, and diagnostics in the same session.
You can work locally without a SoarCode account. Connect your model provider to start. An account is needed for optional features such as approved devices, encrypted configuration sync, and remote access.
Connect an OpenAI Codex subscription, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Kimi Code, Z.AI, Cerebras, or Ollama Cloud. You can also add local Ollama or a compatible OpenAI API endpoint as a custom provider. Available models depend on your provider and access.
You connect your own provider. API usage, subscription limits, and charges follow that provider’s terms. Local inference uses your own hardware. Downloading SoarCode does not include credits for cloud models.
Your workspace and session history stay on their owner device. When you choose a cloud model, the context needed for the task is sent to that provider. A local model can keep inference on your machine; web tools and external integrations still make their own network requests.
Tool access follows your configured permission policy. Actions that require approval show a request you can allow once, allow for the displayed scope, or deny. Review that policy before starting a task; an agent’s permissions are not a guarantee that its changes are correct.
Optional account features connect approved devices. Configuration can sync with end-to-end protection. Remote sessions use an encrypted relay to their owner device, which needs to stay online. Session history is not a persistent cloud copy.
